ESSAY - Saturday Night

What started out on what I thought to be a boring Saturday Night turned out to be the otherwise.

It was unlike any Saturday; where my folks would usually go over to my relative's house to play a few rounds of Mahjong(I do hope you know what this game is). However, something cropped out and the visit had to be canceled - which what I thought would lead me to rotting in front of my laptop playing DotA and RPGs with my friends; but no, something in my mind and heart tells me that I'm not going to waste the night away. I have already been playing online games with them for the past weeks and thankfully that addiction is finally fading away - I no longer feel bounded to the laptop anymore, or more specifically, bounded to the vicious cycle of DotA.

I had thought of going fishing for the past few days already. What inspired me was my childhood days of fishing at Labador park with my father and from the catch reports I read so much about at a fishing forum. Something piqued my interest of fishing and here I am - ready to go to my destination - Kranji Reservoir.

I took my necessary items - cellphone,wallet and water bottle - and took off with my bike. The journey there was long and arduous - it was roughly about 8PM when I'm at the outskirts of my block. I started cycling towards the dark abyss in front of me - bracing myself for the scariest and creepiest ride of my life. Kranji used to be a battlesite and that is already sufficient to tell me that it's haunted by the martyrs of the pasts.

It was a long stretch of road in my view - I started to cycle like never before. The darkness drives me to keep cycling and my legs would not stop. I felt like I was running for my dear life ( or in this case, cycling ) - until I reached a bent. The road was now filled with foreign workers and they are all over the road - on the divider, the roadside and even in the middle of the road. I did not know which scared me more - the dark and lonely road or the road filled with foreigners.

At least, the road was much brighter due to the light coming from their dormitories and the factories. I cycled down the next stretch of road with a comforting sigh; until I reached a fork. I took the path left and cycled all the way down again. The numbers of people around me started to decrease and after a few minutes of cycling - I finally reached my destination - Kranji reservoir.

The sight there was absolutely breath-taking. I was on my bike on a platform that separates the seawater and saltwater. Johor, a city in Malaysia, lies in front of my sight. Absolutely brilliant - yet could be perfect with a shimmer of the moonlight, alas there was none.

I took a moment to enjoy the sight and prepared myself to head back home. A drawback was that the place is FILLED WITH MOSQUITOES SUCKING MY BLOOD. I took a sip of water and hurried back lest more mosquitoes come and infect me with their god-knows-what diseases.

Unfortunately, as the night is too dark OR my cellphone's camera is too lousy, I was unable to take a picture for my dear beloved readers. Fret not, I will try and take one in the day and post it right here.

Now it all makes sense ; Byakuran is SKY, therefore not counted, whereas his 6 guardians would take up the position of STORM,SUN,RAIN,MIST,THUNDER and CLOUD.

( On whom I missed out - The guy on the extreme right, the masked guy in some sort of cell )

AND IT HAS BEEN REVEALED THAT KIKYOU IS THE CLOUD WREATH? ( I need confirmation on this when it comes out )

Bluebell should either be RAIN or MIST..

Movie review : Angels and Demons

I WON'T post any spoilers here, so relax and feel free to read.


Alright, I've done a book report on this and now I'm going to do a movie review.

Firstly, I give this show a 7/10, or maybe a 6/10 if I'm strict.

Like the Da Vinci Code, the book is still lightyears better than the movie.
If you read the book - good for you. This movie gives you a condensed version of what the book is saying - with plenty of cuts; and I mean plenty.

A good thing of this movie would be that, as mentioned, they gives you a condensed version of it and you're left to find out the rest by yourself. They cut short your 6 hours of reading ( thats the time I took to complete reading the book, so yeah :/ )
and turns it into a 2 hours or so film - with plenty of loopholes inside. There's quite a number of bloody scenes in the show though.

The bad thing? For those who DID NOT read the book - you're in for a complicated time. Most likely, you will NOT get what the movie is talking about. Especially if you are bad in comprehending English, you will just be in a daze wondering about what they are talking as the scene moves on.

And for my thoughts, I think the producers or director is trying to turn this novel into a horror film - far from it's genre. Watch it and you'll get what I mean.

Nevertheless, it's still watchable on weekdays but I will not recommend it on weekdays as it's too over hyped and crowded. Nothing special really if you ask me, EXCEPT FOR A SPECIAL SCENE THAT ADDS $5 TO THE TICKET VALUE.

For me, if not for THAT scene, this show is better off paid $1 for the ticket instead of the usual $6 on weekdays.

Alright, now for the specs and to whom I already decided to be the bearer.

Daisy - Free slot. Must be a girl, does'nt matter if you look like her or not, just be a girl. ( This should be hard to find >< )

Zakuro - The guy that looks all "stark-ish" and all. Attitude...like Stark ( from bleach ), or attitude that does'nt really care. Mare Ring bearer would be Kailun.

Torikabuto - Free slot. Big tall guy with the metal mask. Already decided that the Mare Ring bearer would EITHER BE JUNWEI ( if he accepts ) IF NOT A FREE SLOT.

MUST BE TALL !!

Byakuran - Guy in the middle below the tall guy. Leader of the six funeral wrath. Mare Ring bearer would be yours truly.

Kikyou - Guy with the ponytail. Not much is known, however, Mare Ring bearer would be Daniel Ng.

Bluebell - Free slot. Again, must be a girl. A short one too. However, unlike Daisy, this one shall be judge upon appearance, or to simplify, at the very least, have the same hairstyle as Bluebell.

Summing up - I have 2 free slots ( free Mare rings ) up for GIRLS ONLY and 1 free slot for GUY ONLY. If nobody wants the ring I'll auto-assign THE PEOPLE THAT I KNOW THAT FITS IN TO THAT CHARACTER MOST.

UPDATE - HANSEL IS WILLING TO TRADE IN HIS VONGOLA RAIN RING FOR A MARE RAIN RING.

I don't think I'll have any problem with choosing the guys, but it's the girls rather. They WILL ( well, maybe ) think that this " is lame " or " childish " or whatsoever.

However I have another motive I have not revealed to my dear Ring-bearers yet ( Vongola and Millfiore alike ).

Don't ask me why I'm giving them free rings. If you really want the ring, SMS me and I'll see what I can do.

Again, you CAN and MAY think that this is childish and part of my fantasy world stuff - but I have an ulterior motive that overrides all that.

Minor update before MYE

As the MidYear Exams draw closer and closer...
...I'm still slacking <.<

I don't know but it seems that its not only me whose slacking..it seems only right to feel pressurized..oh well.

I'll do my review on [ Katekyo Hitman Reborn ]sometime later, but just to give my readers a brief PERSONAL summery...

Katekyo Hitman Reborn has the potential to be the next [ Bleach ] and/or [ Naruto ] - except for the fact that it's still underrated.

The characters are great and the flow of the storyline is excellent - unlike Bleach where every fight is a sure-win.

It is highly recommended if you love action genres like Bleach or Naruto.
A great anime to start of with for new-anime watchers as it is not too heavy on the blood with a good storyline.

Not too much romance though.
